The problem

The conditions that lead to an incident are rarely recorded.

A machine gets hot, runs rough or runs when it should not, and none of it is written down. The first record of any of it is usually the report written afterwards.

Unmanned running is invisible

A machine left running through a break, a night or a weekend does not announce itself. Nothing on a paper system distinguishes it from a machine that was supposed to be on.

A developing fault is heard, not measured

Excess vibration and heat are the two warnings that matter most and the two that get noticed last, usually by whoever happens to walk past.

Evidence gets reconstructed after the event

An investigation asks what the machine was doing. Without a recording, the answer is assembled from memory and a shift log, and it is only as good as both.

The ones safety managers ask.

Is this a safety certified system?

No, and we will not pretend otherwise. It is condition monitoring that gives you evidence and early warning. It does not replace guarding, interlocks or any statutory inspection.

What can it detect?

Current draw, vibration, temperature, pressure, humidity and run hours depending on the sensor. Anything that shows as a change in one of those is visible.

Can it stop a machine?

Smart sensors can act on a threshold where that is appropriate and safe to configure. Whether you use that is your decision and your risk assessment.

How long is data kept?

Readings are retained so incidents can be investigated against the period before them, with daily backups and a thirty day history.

Does it monitor people?

No. The sensors read the machine. A current clamp cannot tell who is stood in front of it.
