Disconnected and dysfunctional

Plenty of systems. Plenty of paper.
Nothing connected.

When your systems are not linked and the operational business runs on paper, you never have the data you need when you need it, and when you do have it, it is wrong. So you pay people a fortune to enter job sheets, chase numbers across departments and build reports by hand.

  1. An important order is overdue. The customer rings to complain. It was completed two days ago.

Due Monday. Finished and packed on Tuesday at 14:35. You are told it is complete on Thursday. The customer complains shortly after.

  2. A sample you made has gone into production, so you revise the quote on estimated times and costs.

The labour and material from the sample were written on a sheet nobody keyed, so you price a job without knowing if it makes money.

  3. A key machine stops for an hour. It puts you behind, nobody notices and nothing is logged.

The machine goes down again next week, and the week after, because nothing was recorded and no pattern ever flags the problem.

  4. You check stock and promise a delivery date. On the day you pick, you are 28 items short.

When you checked, all 40 were in stock. Another order took 28 on Friday and the paperwork is still in a tray waiting to be keyed.

  5. You need output, scrap and downtime by machine this week. It takes a day to pull together.

By the time the data lands you are steering and reacting on numbers that are out of date and no longer relevant.

  6. You bought systems to fix some of this, but they are not linked, so keeping them up to date is hard work.

Each one fixes what it was sold to fix. Together they create confusion, mess and a great deal more administration.

Holding it all together with no connected system underneath is stressful, and tasks are bound to get missed.
80% of reporting effort goes on preparing and reconciling data, not analysing it
73% of ERP users still export to a spreadsheet to get an answer
90% of spreadsheets over 150 rows contain at least one major error
58% of leaders admit key decisions rely on data they know is wrong

Gartner, 2026 · Ricoh UK admin burden research, 2026 · Distributive Trades Benchmark, 2026

These are only six problems. There are likely many more.
They all stem from the same place.

A lack of connected, joined up thinking and systems.

The platform

No paper. No double entry. One connected system.

Instead of paying staff to enter data into sheets and systems or chase conflicting numbers, everything is captured once and shared everywhere. Whether data comes from your ERP, shop floor, warehouse, or machine sensors, it all writes to and reads from the exact same system.

04 Support Support that goes beyond the software.
  • Setup, data migration and training included
  • Live in days or weeks, not months
  • Energy, process and manufacturing support
  • Resolutions over KPIs, the clock stops when you are sorted
  • People who have run businesses, not a ticket queue
  • Explore support

See what that looks like in practice.
One connected system, start to finish

The difference it makes

Every business is different. So is every result.

Every business measures value differently, and Output IQ is built wide enough to meet all of it, across ERP, data, sensors and support. Here are a few of the differences it has made so far.

Precision engineering

27% More productive

Payback within 3 months, productivity gain after 6. The previous ERP could not keep pace with growing demand.

ERP

Plastics manufacturing

29% Less gas than last year

17% also saved on electricity. £62k projected over the first 12 months across sensors, controls and advice.

Sensors

Metal fabrication

A full time head Of daily admin, gone

Office, production and warehouse staff were all keying data into multiple systems. Input cut, accuracy improved.

Data & Reporting

Packaging manufacturing

4 months From spreadsheets to fully digital

No business systems before, and priced out of other ERP options. Spreadsheets and forms all now digital.

Customer stories

Full Platform. Full Payback.

ERP, SFDC and sensors

We use the full package from Output IQ, ERP, SFDC and Electrical Sensors. Within 9 months we felt the system was already paying for itself. We saw dramatic improvements in office productivity through digitalisation of processes, allowing staff to focus on value add activities rather than pushing paper. We identified out of hours electricity usage of £14k, and it has started to highlight where we may have improvements to make on shop floor efficiencies. We are only at the start of our journey, but Dan and the team have supported us from day 1.

Who it's for

Built for businesses that make, move, sell and service.

Designed by people who have actually run shop floors, warehouses, and operations. It brings practical automation and efficiency to the tasks that slow you down, joining up the front line, the office, and the boardroom in one connected system.

Run the shop floor on live data, not a spreadsheet.

  • Live shop floor data capture
  • Work orders, BOMs and routings
  • Quality caught on the machine
  • Output, downtime and OEE as each job runs
  • Every job costed against its quote
  • Reduction in admin, paper and confusion

How fast you go live

Live in days or weeks, or at your own pace.

Most software rollouts take half a year and cost a fortune in setup before anything works. There is no dragged out project phase here. Clean data and a straightforward setup mean how fast you go live depends entirely on you, not us.

A few days

If you are adopting a system for the first time, or your data is clean, you can be up and running straight away.

A few weeks

This is the norm. Most customers have data to migrate, and need some training and configuration.

Longer, if you want it

If you have a lot of data or several sites, or want to integrate and test slowly, you set the pace.

01

We map your processes

We learn how your business runs to get the most from the software, sharing better ways of working as we go.

02

All your data moved across

We transfer your records using custom mapping tools, so everything lands cleanly and linked from day one.

03

Built and tested on your data

We set up the system around your workflow and run full tests using your actual numbers before handover.

04

Train, test, and switch on

We train your team on real jobs, let you test the setup, and go live at whatever pace suits your schedule.

  • Guided onboarding on every plan
  • No upfront project fee
  • Training and migration days included by plan
  • Rolling monthly, cancel in thirty days

Whatever your size and whatever pace suits you, we fit around your business, get it running properly, and stay with you well beyond go live.

Talk to an expert

Trust & security

Your numbers, your data, completely protected.

Your systems hold what you cannot afford to lose: your customers, your costings, your orders and your history. Here is exactly where your data is held, who can reach it, and how you stay in complete control.

How it is held

  • UK hosted

Hosted and backed up entirely in the UK. Your data never leaves the country, with no offshore servers or overseas data transfer.

  • Your own databases

Databases of your own rather than your rows in a shared table, so there are no concerns about data, performance or access.

  • Fully encrypted

Protected in transit and at rest, so your records are secure whether they are moving between your team or sitting in a database.

  • Backed up daily

We keep a 30 day backup history in separate UK cloud storage, meaning a bad afternoon can always be fixed with a simple restore.

  • Tested against the live build

Security reviews and penetration testing we run regularly against the actual live software and connections you use, not sandboxes.

How you keep control of it

  • Role based access

The shop floor sees the floor and finance sees the ledger, with every edit logged in an audit trail you can easily read and review.

  • Multi factor and single sign on

Both are included on every plan, not locked behind expensive tiers, and you decide whether to make them mandatory for your team.

  • Export whenever you want

Your records are yours to export in full at any time, not just when you leave, and never as a special favour that has to be asked for.

  • Leaving is not a hostage situation

If you leave, we help you take a complete copy of your records. We hold your data for ninety days after you go, or delete it sooner if you ask.

  • UK GDPR, and nothing sold on

Your records are never sold or shared for anyone else's purposes, and the only thing sent to AI features is the specific question asked.

Your records remain private to your team, and any support access is always restricted by permission, taken only for that task, and logged every time.

FAQ

The questions we get asked.

What is ERP, and how is it different from MRP?

MRP plans what to make and what to buy. ERP runs the whole business around it: production, stock, purchasing, sales, jobs, costing and reporting in one system. Output IQ is a full ERP with MRP inside it, plus machine and energy monitoring built in.

Is ERP overkill for a small business?

Not at this size of system. Output IQ is built for UK SMEs rather than scaled down from an enterprise product, so plans start small and you take on only the parts you need today. Most of our customers run between ten and sixty people.

Do we need ERP, or just stock control software?

Stock control answers one question. If your stock, orders, purchasing, job costing and shop floor all disagree with each other, the problem is that they are separate systems, and a better stock package will not fix it.

Is this only for manufacturers?

No. Output IQ is used by businesses that make, move, sell or serve: manufacturing, wholesale and distribution, multi site retail and hospitality, and technology and field service businesses.

How much does ERP cost for a small business in the UK?

Three plans, from £195 a month, with desktop and operator seats included on every one. Prices are ex VAT. Sensor hardware is the only significant extra, and the monitoring software itself is included on every plan.

Is there a contract or minimum term?

No minimum term. Every plan is rolling monthly, so the most you are ever committed to is the month you are in, and your data is exportable at any time whether you stay or not.

Is it priced per user?

Partly, and not at one rate. Desktop seats and operator seats are priced separately, operator seats cost a fraction of a desktop seat, and the rate per seat falls as you add more of them.

How long does ERP implementation take?

Weeks rather than the six to eighteen months a traditional ERP rollout takes. Onboarding is guided and staged, with your data migrated, your processes mapped and your team trained as part of getting live.

Do we have to stop production to switch systems?

No. There is no big bang cutover. Onboarding is staged so you move across in steps, with the floor still running, rather than switching everything off over a weekend and hoping.

Why do ERP implementations fail?

Usually one of three things: a large upfront fee that has to be justified before anyone has seen a benefit, a big bang go live with nothing to fall back on, or a system nobody on the floor will actually use. The way this one is bought and rolled out is built around those three.

Can you migrate our existing data?

Yes, and it is part of onboarding rather than a separate project. Our own data mapping tools bring customers, parts, BOMs and open orders across, so you start on a system that already knows your business.

How do we move off spreadsheets?

The spreadsheets are usually the fastest thing to migrate, because the data is already structured. What changes is that the numbers stop being a snapshot somebody typed and start being the live position everyone is working from.

Does it integrate with Xero, Sage or QuickBooks?

Yes. Output IQ includes full finance, but where your accountant prefers to stay on an existing package, our API integrations feed it cleanly so the double entry between the two stops.

Can it take orders from our webshop, marketplaces and EDI?

Yes. Web, marketplace, EDI and manually entered orders land in one queue and move to despatch in a single flow, so nothing is re keyed between the website, the inbox and the accounts package.

Do we have to buy sensors to use it?

No. The ERP stands on its own, and the machine monitoring software is included on every plan whether you fit sensors or not. Hardware can be bought or rented when you want it, and we fit it.

Can you monitor older machines?

Yes. The sensor reads the machine's power signal rather than talking to its controller, so age, make and model do not matter. If it draws current, it can be monitored, and no PLC integration is needed.

Where is our data held, and who can see it?

In the UK, in a database of your own rather than your rows in a shared table, encrypted in transit and at rest, with access by role. There is a fuller answer in the trust and security section above.

Is support UK based, and is it included?

Standard support is included on every plan, with no separate support contract and no charge per ticket. Deeper specialist work, such as process improvement or automation projects, is available on a day rate if you ever want it.

How much training do staff need?

Less than you would expect on the floor, where the job is scanning and booking rather than learning a system. Initial training for your team is included with onboarding on every plan, and further days are available whenever you need them.
